Ken pam is called the better market project and you know some say some of these changes are in for the better remember more than a decade of planning and collaboration went into this project and now some of the biggest changes that stick out our for the people its supposed to help that is for bicyclists in one of the main changes is that a sidewalk level dedicated bikeway. By now youve probably noticed parts of Market Street shut off to personal parks as part of the better Market Street project. However, other changes in its 2019 plans to make it more walkable and bike friendly are now lost 2020 plans. Its all

Many of them lost electricity on sunday. We are still at risk of fires even if the red flag warning is over. A small wildfire broke out before 8 00 last night. This is in napa and sonoma counties. Crews were able to get that under control. In orange county, its quite a different story. The race to contain two fastmoving wildfires being pushed by the santa ana winds, nearly 70,000 people are under a mandatory evacuation this morning. The new teach frer a screen. This as the district and the Teachers Union are butting heads over how Distance Learning is going to work for everyone this semester. Melissa colorado joins us live from oakland with more on what the district superintendent is saying about the start of the new school year. Melissa, parents cant be happy with this. Reporter you know, the superintendent called it unprecedented and weird. She used that term to describe the first day of school or the first day of zoom here at ousd. Right in front of the Oakland Tech High School which is obviously closed. But earlier today we saw a line of students and parents coming here to receive textbooks as well as chromebooks. Now, we got some new attendance numbers. The district says attendance numbers are still coming in but so far more than 21,000 students showed up or, i should say, logged on to their first day of school.
