1. COVID-19
Schools in Juneau County closed starting March 18 in an effort to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Governor Tony Evers on March 13 directed Department of Health Services Secretary-designee Andrea Palm to issue an agency order mandating the closure of all public and private K-12 schools in Wisconsin, including Juneau County, according to a release from Evers’ office.
Students at Necedah School District learn in a socially distanced environment, while wearing masks and in small class sizes, as part of safety efforts in an attempt to reduce transmission rates of COVID-19 while allowing in-person instruction.

Six child predators have been sentenced and put behind bars by Attorney General Lynn Fitch’s Cyber Crime Division. Robert Michael Lundstrom II, 32, pleaded guilty to one count of child exploitation and was sentenced by Lauderdale County Circuit Judge Robert T. “Bo” Bailey to eight years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. He will be subject to five years post-release supervision and was ordered to pay $3,000 in fees, including $1,000 to the Mississippi Crime Victim’s Compensation Fund and $1,000 to the Mississippi Children’s Trust Fund, as well as all court costs.
