Boston: May Day Still Counts
The Green-Rainbow Party of Massachusetts urges all to join together for an all day celebration of May Day 2021 starting at 1:00 PM on Boston Common. The Rally will be followed by a March to Nubian Square. Upon arrival at Nubian Square, there will be another Rally followed by a Nighttime March @ 6:00 PM cosponsored by New England Front Against Fascism.
Join us in celebrating May Day, International Workers Day, and unite to oppose the attacks coming down on working people, the oppressed, and youth. Once again our party has been working with the Boston May Day Coalition and many other progressive organizations in planning this annual event and celebration. The rally, which will begin at 1 PM at the Parkman Bandstand in Boston Common, will bring together many compelling speakers united in their demand for justice.

BOSTON There’s a long list of Derek Chauvins, Sirad, an activist with Mass Action Against Police Brutality, shouted into a microphone set up outside of the Massachusetts State House Wednesday evening.
Flanked by families of people killed by police in the state Sirad, who did not share her last name out of fear of police retaliation for her activism, began to list the names of officers who played a role in deadly police encounters with the public, calling them Massachusetts’ most wanted.
One day after Chauvin was convicted of murdering George Floyd while on duty as a Minneapolis police officer, Mass Action Against Police Brutality held a press conference in front of the State House. Rain and rolling thunderstorms kept the crowd small, but organizers did not back down from their message that their work must continue.

âWe have to build our own power, an independent workerâs party that must rally all those interested in the fight against racism, against homophobia and against all forms of oppression,â Jai Chavis of the Worcester Independent Socialist Group told the crowd surrounding the Boston Common bandstand Wednesday. âThis will give us something to actually vote for, not just to vote against.â
