BOSTON There’s a long list of Derek Chauvins, Sirad, an activist with Mass Action Against Police Brutality, shouted into a microphone set up outside of the Massachusetts State House Wednesday evening.
Flanked by families of people killed by police in the state Sirad, who did not share her last name out of fear of police retaliation for her activism, began to list the names of officers who played a role in deadly police encounters with the public, calling them Massachusetts’ most wanted.
One day after Chauvin was convicted of murdering George Floyd while on duty as a Minneapolis police officer, Mass Action Against Police Brutality held a press conference in front of the State House. Rain and rolling thunderstorms kept the crowd small, but organizers did not back down from their message that their work must continue.
