Kurt Cummings left his career to open his dream restaurant Then COVID hit

Kurt Cummings spent most of his adult life serving in law enforcement.  After seven years as public safety chief at A Pocono Country Place in Tobyhanna, Cummings retired his badge to fulfill a life-long dream: opening his own chicken wing restaurant called Wingz And A Prayer.  A 2015 Cornell study on restaurant failure rates found that 30% of all restaurants go out of business within their first year. When it comes to independently-owned restaurants (versus corporate-owned chains), the odds of making it past the first year of business are only 10%. Five suspects apprehended in connection with Tobyhanna Twp shootings

Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department has announced that five suspects connected to a series of shootings that occurred in the Poconos on Monday night have been apprehended. During a Tuesday press conference, PMRPD Chief Chris Wagner stated that the individuals  including an unidentified 15-year-old, 19-year-old Aja’nay Watson, 20-year-old Jahlayah Blondell, 21-year-old Soladin Hamilton and 22-year-old Laron Watson, all from Tobyhanna  have been arrested and will be charged as of Jan. 19. During the Tuesday conference, Wagner said that police were dispatched to multiple scenes for multiple shootings with multiple victims throughout Coolbaugh Township, Monroe County on Jan. 18. The shootings were the result of a case of mistaken identity, Wagner and the Monroe County District Attorney s office stated.

In the daylight hours, you can see a home riddled with bullets along Hampshire Drive in the Pocono Farms East development in Coolbaugh Township.   Here s what Pocono Mountain Regional Police say happened: a 20-year-old man was shot in the leg inside a home by 22-year-old Laron Watson and 21-year-old Solidin Hamilton, 19-year-old Aja Nay Watson, along with a 16-year-old boy who shot at the house in Monroe County.   Not far away, inside A Pocono Country Place, the group also shot at a home where a woman and her son were injured by the gunshots.
