Further details have emerged regarding the series of shootings in Tobyhanna Township that occurred on Monday evening, painting a complex picture of violence stemming from a case of mistaken identity.
On Tuesday evening, the Monroe County District Attorney’s office issued a release on the matter, clarifying the connections, or lack thereof, between the assailants and victims, establishing a motivation for the shooters, and boiling down a series of interrogations to offer some explanation as to how an incorrect assumption about a vehicle’s owner led to an onslaught of gun battles throughout the area.
Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department Chief Chris Wagner announced Tuesday that five suspects – including an unidentified 15-year-old, 19-year-old Aja’nay Watson, 20-year-old Jahlayah Blondell, 21-year-old Soladin Hamilton and 22-year-old Laron Watson, all from Tobyhanna – had been apprehended, and were set to be charged in connection with a series of gun battles that saw four victims injured.
