Recognizing its unique ecological, economic and cultural values, Tonle Sap was inscribed on the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves in 1997, and intently enforced by Royal Decree in 2001. ....
Share The Cambodia Garment Training Institute (CGTI) and Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia (GMAC), in close cooperation with UNESCO and the Department of Non-Formal Education (DNFE) of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) has organized a hybrid capacity building Training of Trainer (ToT) workshop for teachers of the factory literacy program (FLP) on 14-16 July 2021. With 12 teachers from participating factories in the program, the three-day workshop was conducted with the aim to review the lessons learned, challenges, and to introduce more training techniques and tools to better design and deliver the lessons to literacy learners as part of Adult Learning and Education (ALE). ....
Share As a follow-up to the UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development held on 17-19 May 2021, and in line with the Berlin Declaration, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of Cambodia and the UNESCO Phnom Penh Office co-organized a national consultation on ESD for 2030 on 5 July 2021. Over 180 participants from MoEYS, concerned government ministries, development partners, representatives from NGOs, universities, education institutes took part in the online event. The national consultation discussed the needs, achievements, challenges, available resources and concrete implementation plans of the new ESD for 2030 framework and agreed on the Country Initiative for ESD 2030 around its five Priority Action Areas, namely (1) Advancing policy; (2) Transforming learning environments; (3) Building capacities of educators; (4) Empowering and mobilizing youth; and (5) Accelerating local level actions. Share Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation, the 35th Technical Session of the ICC-Angkor initially scheduled in June was postponed to September, however, in order to continue the urgent conservations on the site, the Secretariat of the ICC-Angkor organized on 28 and 29 June 2021 a technical meeting between the adhoc group of Experts of the ICC-Angkor, the APSARA and Sambor Prei Kuk National Authorities on the Conservation and Sustainable Development projects at the World Heritage sites of Angkor and Sambor Prei Kuk. Prior to this meeting, the Secretariat, together with the APSARA National authority and the International teams present in Angkor conducted a site visit at the Angkor World Heritage site from 24 to 26 June 2021. The aim of the visit was to seek advice from the international teams and to receive a technical report to be shared with the adhoc Experts of the ICC for evaluation of the ongoing projects at Angkor. ....
