March 12, 2021 It appears the Petaluma Creamery will resume operations in the near future. The Press Democrat reports that after two weeks of negotiations, the Creamery is nearing a deal in which it would pay off more than $500,000 in outstanding fines in order to avoid or remove a lien from the city. The fines are connected to the creamery’s disregard for the city’s wastewater pollution limits over the past decade. The agreement also calls for the Petaluma Creamery to adhere to the city’s wastewater discharge and building safety rules. Quick Links ....
March 2, 2021 Pineapple Studio/iStock Petaluma city officials are now scrambling to figure out how to move forward with the Petaluma Creamery. The business paid more than $800,000 out of the $1.4 million in unpaid fines yesterday. City leaders were prepared to close down the business if the Creamery did not pay the fines off by yesterday’s deadline. City Manager Peggy Flynn said that they still owe unpaid wastewater capacity fees and permit violation fines, but officials will meet this week to discuss the next steps. Quick Links ....
March 1, 2021 The Petaluma Creamery will have its wastewater discharge permit revoked today by the city. The business is now at risk of closing down if they don’t pay delinquent fines and fees totaling over $1 million by the end of today.
