New York State Team ALBANY New York announced Wednesday it is opening 35 community-based pop-up vaccination sites this week at churches, community centers, public housing complexes and cultural centers. The goal is to vaccinate more than 25,000 people through the week and add more sites weekly to reach as many communities as possible to get vaccines in as many arms as possible. New York last month started a few pop-up sites, and they have provided nearly 9,000 first COVID-19 doses. Those sites will reopen to give out second doses in the coming weeks. The move comes as more vaccines are headed to the state, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced, thanks to the federal government. ....
