Cannabiz: Pot forecasters expect U.S. marijuana market to reach $45.9 billion by 2025, more

Annual Marijuana Business Factbook, 9th Edition, forecasts U.S. sales of recreational and medical marijuana to hit $45.9 billion by 2025.
Other key findings from the report:
In 2021, U.S. cannabis sales are expected to reach $22 billion-$26.4 billion.
100 percent of investors expect the industry to do better in 2021 than in 2020.
The cannabis industry will offer over 400,000 full-time jobs in 2021.
The new, adult-use market in New York should reach sales of $2.5 billion by year five.

CDOT partnering with Marijuana Industry Group to present simple message: "I'll be blunt, don't drive high"

The Colorado Department of Transportation and the Marijuana Industry Group are collaborating to educate consumers about the risks and cost of cannabis-impaired driving with an in-your-face conversation starter budtender masks.
In partnership with Native Roots and Lightshade, CDOT and MIG are distributing masks to select dispensaries with the message: “I’ll be blunt, don’t drive high.” The masks are designed to remind the public about staying safe.
“Impaired driving continues to be a top cause of crashes, injuries and fatalities on Colorado’s roadways,” said CDOT Communications Manager Sam Cole in a news announcement. “While alcohol is still the most common impairing substance, recent data shows an increasing number of fatal crashes involving impairment from cannabis. In response, CDOT is building on past successful partnerships with the cannabis industry we are ramping up our efforts to help the cannabis industry and its custome ....

House panel approves pot delivery regulations over opposition from minority-owned businesses

House Bill 21-1159 from Colorado Springs Democratic Rep. Marc Snyder seeks to put “some guardrails and some protections and most importantly, some direction” on the burgeoning marijuana delivery industry created by the 2019 legislation.
“My hope was, back in September when I agreed to take this bill, was that I d be able to really find that middle sweet spot,” Snyder said during open testimony before the House Business Affairs and Labor Committee.
Snyder’s bill aims to find that sweet spot through several provisions. One requires retail marijuana stores seeking a delivery permit to be open at least five days per week and at least five hours per day, a measure aimed at rooting out “shell storefronts.” A second would tie online platforms directly to specifics stores while a third provision would prevent business operators in either the medical or recreational space from delivering marijuana.
