Avon and Somerset Police escorted an abnormal load that left Yate at about 9.30am, headed for the M32 in Bristol and on to Cardiff. There was heavy congestion as the steel frame structure was transported along Badminton Road - a stretch of the A432 running through South Gloucestershire - and on to the A4174. ....

After our hard-fought community campaign, I am delighted to inform Gazette readers that diggers are on site, the foundations have been laid and our new Yate Park and Ride is currently (and finally) being built. I promised to deliver this at the general election, and we are getting it done! Living in South Gloucestershire all my life, I know how congested our local roads can be, and now how beneficial this new Park and Ride will be; for reducing congestion and improving both our local connections and air quality. Due to be completed by the end of summer, our Park and Ride is located on Badminton Road, adjacent to the South Gloucestershire Council Offices. It will include 192 parking spaces, 38 electric vehicle charge points and secure cycle storage for 46 bikes. ....
