Date Time Council awards contract for Cosgrove 3 Cell 2 construction Construction works on Cell 2 at Cosgrove 3 Landfill are one step closer to commencement following the awarding of the contract at Tuesday’s Ordinary Council Meeting. Greater Shepparton City Council awarded the contract to local company Apex Earthworks for construction of Cell 2 at the Cosgrove site. The scope of work undertaken will include site establishment, earthworks, supply and installation of liners and the collection system, and installation of a riser sump. With the contract awarded, works will now be able to begin on Cell 2 which is needed due to the current landfill cell being forecast to run out of available airspace by February 2022. Works on Cell 2 will be completed before the existing cell is full. ....

Date Time Resale Shop reopens at Shepparton Resource Recovery Centre Greater Shepparton City Council will reopen the Resale Shop at the Shepparton Resource Recovery Centre on Wanganui Road from Monday 3 May. The Resale Shop will be open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am until 2pm. Bookings must be made by calling Council for a 15 minute time slot, with limitations of three items per customer. Greater Shepparton City Council Director Infrastructure Phil Hoare thanked everyone for their patience over the past year. “It is great that we are now able to welcome people back to the Resale Shop. I’m sure many people will be eager to find a bargain or two after many households have completed their annual clean up around the house,” he said. ....

Date Time Wyndham/Fitzjohn/MacIntosh/Hassett Street intersection project update Greater Shepparton City Council’s works to widen Wyndham Street along the Victoria Park Lake frontage are due to be completed by Wednesday 23 December, with the works on the Wyndham/MacIntosh/Fitzjohn/Hassett intersection due to be completed in the new year. Work on the intersection component will resume from Monday 11 January. Traffic will continue to be reduced to one lane through the intersection over the Christmas break, however the lanes along the frontage of the lake have been reopened. The road improvements will increase the safety of one of the municipality’s busiest attractions, and are being completed as part of the contract to install traffic signals at the Wyndham Street/Railway Line/MacIntosh Street/Hassett Street and Fitzjohn Street intersection. ....
