Golf not so bad
I take issue with columnist Jane Sims’ comparing student parties, the church in Aylmer and a golf course in her column Student parties shut down, but church, golf course defy rules (April 27).

Golf is played outside, socially distanced with players walking. Many older players already are vaccinated. Students parties and the church involve people congregating inside, close together and spreading the virus.
It was short-sighted for the government to shut down playgrounds, soccer fields, tennis courts and golf courses. The walking trails are packed because people are looking for safe exercise outdoors. The majority of Londoners are following the restrictions but in the case of outdoor activities, it doesn’t make sense to restrict them.
