New Australian Bureau of Statistics data has revealed the average full-time salaries for workers across Mackay Isaac Whitsunday and Queensland by postcode. German Creek and May Downs were the richest workers in the Mackay Isaac Whitsunday region, taking home an average wage of $109,994. Peak Downs Mine and Moranbah workers were not far behind with an average wage of $105,071. Workers living in Devereux Creek and Marian were the top earners in the Mackay region alone with an average wage of $83,222. ....
Council is recommending people stay out of the water at Platypus Beach almost a fortnight after dangerous bacteria was detected there. A Mackay Regional Council statement issued on Friday said ongoing tests showed little change to moderate E.coli and Intestinal Enterococci levels. “Council recommends that members of the public don’t swim in the area,” the statement said. “Anyone swimming in the area does so at their own risk.” Platypus Beach, a popular swimming spot under the bridge at Mirani. Premium Content Yearling cattle was popular at the Central Queensland Livestock Exchange (CQLX) Prime and Store Cattle Sale on Wednesday, with a southern operator snapping up a line of Droughtmaster heifers for 490c/kg to use as breeders. G Perry from Nine Mile supplied the Droughtmaster cattle, with the heifers weighing in at 234kg to return $1150/head, while a local backgrounder secured the steers from the same run for 550c/kg, which weighed 265kg to equal $1460/head. TopX Gracemere Morgan Harris said all young cattle sold to a firm market, and the heifer price had climbed compared to last week, with the average price for yearling heifers between 434c/kg to 489c/kg. ....

Real Estate Institute of Queensland corporate manager Olivier Björksäter-Bleylock said Seaforth was experiencing a zero per cent vacancy rate. âWhat weâre finding is rentals are extraordinarily tight and theyâre tight everywhere,â Mr Björksäter-Bleylock said. âWhatâs happening in these small little seaside hamlets is really being reflective of what weâre seeing happening all up and down the regional coast of Queensland.â Redcliffe Island near Seaforth.
