Southlake’s May 2021 election results are in. John Huffman will act as Southlake’s new mayor after winning 70.54% of the vote, earning 6,618 votes. His opponent Debra Edmondson received 29.46% of the vote, or 2,764 votes. 
In the Southlake City Council Place 2 election, Randy Robbins received 70.4% of the vote, or 6,523 votes. His opponent Sabreena Hakemy received 29.6% of the vote, or 2,742 votes. 
In the Southlake City Council Place 5 election, Amy Torres-Lepp received 69.94% of the vote, or 6,515 votes. Her opponent Elisha Rurka earned 30.06% of the vote, or 2,800 votes. 
In the CISD School Board Place 4 race, Cameron “Cam” Bryan received 68.47% of the vote, with 6,849 votes cast. His opponent Lynda Warner received 31.53% of the vote, with 3,154 votes cast.  ....

Please allow me the opportunity to explain why I endorse Chad Elms for SISD School Board, Place 3. Yes, full disclosure – I am his mom, but I feel endorsements should start from the ones who know a person BEST! I’ve had the privilege of watching Chad grow as a family man grounded in his Christian faith, values and integrity which has strengthened him and provided wisdom beyond his years. His incredibly supportive wife, Stephanie, has been such a blessing to him as well as their son, Gabe, 14.
After earning a degree in Physical Therapy, Chad pursued opening his first physical therapy clinic in Helotes. He made the sacrifices necessary to establish a successful business by offering excellent patient care and treating all his patients with dignity and respect. Chad’s clinics thrived and grew to 16 locations in four states making the Inc. 5000 List. He worked hard and applied fiscally r ....

Newest NAACP unit begins work


Bledsoe opened his remarks by recognizing the newest Texas unit. 
“I wanted to welcome you guys aboard and to say that I am absolutely enthused that you’re here,” he said.
Bledsoe also praised the community work DFW Metro has already started.
“You are doing the kinds of things we need the NAACP to do,” Bledsoe said. “We are a great and diverse group that look at the world in the appropriate way. We look forward to you being a full-fledged unit doing great work, even greater work than what you’re doing now.”
