Months of campaigning, informational meetings and presentations will culminate as local voters get their final chance to head to the polls to decide a number of bond issues and elections across Erath County. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Erath County voters can vote at the following locations, regardless of where they live in the county: Erath County Courthouse, 100 W. Washington St., Stephenville; or Dublin County Annex, 219 S. Grafton St., Dublin. City of Stephenville voters will decide on five proposed bond issues as well as two school board positions.

• Total in person early votes: 771 (When reviewing vote totals, note that everyone in the city of Stephenville is also in the Stephenville ISD.) On election day, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. In Erath County, voters can vote at any of the following locations, regardless of where they reside in Erath County: Erath County Courthouse, 100 W. Washington St., Stephenville; or Dublin County Annex, 219 S. Grafton St., Dublin. City of Stephenville voters will decide on five proposed bond issues as well as two school board positions. While four positions are up for election on the Stephenville City Council, each place has had one candidate declare so an election will not be held. Those declaring for the positions include incumbents, Ricky Thurman in Place 5 and Gerald Cook in Place 7; and newcomers LeAnn Durfey in Place 1 and Daron Trussell in Place 3.

Letter to the editor: Support Elms for school board Stephenville Empire-Tribune Please allow me the opportunity to explain why I endorse Chad Elms for SISD School Board, Place 3. Yes, full disclosure – I am his mom, but I feel endorsements should start from the ones who know a person BEST! I’ve had the privilege of watching Chad grow as a family man grounded in his Christian faith, values and integrity which has strengthened him and provided wisdom beyond his years. His incredibly supportive wife, Stephanie, has been such a blessing to him as well as their son, Gabe, 14. After earning a degree in Physical Therapy, Chad pursued opening his first physical therapy clinic in Helotes. He made the sacrifices necessary to establish a successful business by offering excellent patient care and treating all his patients with dignity and respect. Early voting starts Monday for May 1 election E-T staff report The next election in Erath County is scheduled for May 1 and voters can cast their ballots early starting Monday. Early voting for this election will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday, April 26 and Tuesday, April 27 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Early voting locations and times for the city of Stephenville, Stephenville ISD and Dublin ISD include: • Erath County Courthouse: 100 W. Washington St., Stephenville. • Dublin County Annex: 219 S. Grafton, Dublin. The city of Stephenville has scheduled several open house events and town hall meetings for residents to gain more information on its proposed bond issues, which are on the ballot.
