Ryan Hartman. The wreck occurred on June 10, 2020. More than a year after the incident, Watts, Miller s partner, continues to seek justice for Miller and asks for the termination of Hartman from his position within the San Marcos Police Department. According to police reports, Hartman had been driving while talking on the phone moments leading up to the collision. There was also an open container of Dos Equis beer found inside his truck. ....
Wednesday, July 21, 2021 Pamela Watts continues to plead for justice and accountability for the death of Jennifer Miller, who died in a car crash caused when an off-duty San Marcos Police Department officer collided with her vehicle in June 2020. Watts Miller’s life partner and a group of supporters met at San Marcos City Hall on Wednesday, hoping to provide City Manager Bert Lumbreras and Mayor Jane Hughson with a personalized calendar stocked with photos of Miller and an image of the crash that occurred. But when she arrived inside City Hall, Watts was told neither were available. “Both of these parties knew we were coming and they’re conveniently, they don’t want to talk to us about accountability,” Watts told the group inside City Hall. “They’re ashamed of their actions because there has been none toward accountability, there have been none toward justice. I simply will not accept that.” ....
