PTI govt playing proactive role to tackle global warming issue

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is the first government in the country which has taken the environmental issues and global warming seriously, and since its inception, it has been playing a proactive role to supplement the global initiatives to handle the grave challenge.
Pakistan is specifically vulnerable to climate changes, such as extreme weather conditions and other climatic effects including sea intrusion, unusual rain patterns, glacial melting, rising temperatures and drought. Every year, flash floods and torrential rains not only claim human lives but also damage property and infrastructure.
The PTI government is promoting afforestation all across the country and it has launched projects like 10 billion tree tsunami, clean and green Pakistan, electric mobility (electric vehicle policy) and public awareness campaigns, etc. to reduce emissions and control all sorts of environmental pollution. ....

Such schemes on the face look very simple, but, in practice, have hidden plans to benefit the vested interests. The advice of this senior citizen is to think hundred times before disturbing more your already disturbed life.
Some years ago, in the backdrop of acute loadshedding, the Karachi Electric (KE), through a campaign advised its consumers, to switch off their unnecessary lights and appliances while going out in order to save energy. Despite having in the past been repeatedly bitten obeying foolishly my civic obligation sense, as old habits don’t die, I followed this advice strictly. Consumers asked to use energy-efficient appliances

LAHOREUsing energy-efficient appliances can save up to 40 per cent energy and drastically reduce electricity bills, said an official of Punjab Energy Department.
He asked the consumers to look for 3-Star NEECA/PEECA labeled appliances only, which are certified by government agency. For instance, he added, “We can save up to 40pc electricity by using Pakistan Energy Label fans.”
If consumers use fans having three star stickers when buying a new fan, they would be able to reduce electricity consumption substantially. Moreover, use of inverter AC, 3-Star NEEC labeled LED lights and fans can help drastically reduce power consumption. ....
