‘Drugs purchase data of hospitals to be collected’
LAHORE: Specialized Healthcare Secretary Muhammad Aamir Jan visited Jinnah Hospital here on Tuesday.
Talking to the media, Aamir Jan said the HVAC system and other machinery would become functional in the next two months for providing better healthcare to patients. He asked the medical superintendents to ensure improvement in conditions of hospitals, management and operational matters.
No mafia in purchase of medicines, parking, canteens and affairs of the hospitals would be allowed and all the civil cases pending in courts would actively be pursued for setting aside the stay orders, Aamir Jan said and added the department would notify its team who would collect data of purchase of medicines of last three years from teaching hospitals within 10 days so as to unearth any irregularity or embezzlement in the process after its monitoring and evaluation.

LAHORE: The Punjab government has upgraded the Institute of Child Health (ICH), Lahore, to University of Child Health Sciences, the first one in public sector all over the country.
Located in the heart of the city, the 1,100-bed facility has been upgraded under the University of Child Health Sciences Lahore Act, 2021 two months after the Punjab Assembly passed a bill, giving a go-ahead to expand the scope of healthcare for the children visiting there from all over the country.
The Punjab Specialised Healthcare & Medical Education Department (SH&MED) issued a notification to the effect here on Tuesday.
LAHORE: In a major reshuffle of top administrative secretaries, the Punjab government has replaced ACS (Home), specialised healthcare and medical education secretary, and forest, wildlife and fisheries departments’ secretaries.
The Punjab government has relieved ACS (Home) Momin Agha of his duties and directed him to report to the Establishment Division for further orders. He has also been relieved of the additional charge of the post of secretary of the Home Department (south).
Housing Urban Develop-ment and Public Health Engineering (HUD&PHE) secretary Zafar Nasrullah Khan was transferred and posted ACS (Home).
Mr Khan will also hold additional charge of the post of the HUD&PHE secretary for three months or till the posting of a regular incumbent, which ever falls earlier.
