PTI names Hammad Azhar as Lahore mayoral candidate

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has nominated Hammad Azhar as the party’s candidate for the mayorship of Lahore. Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the nomination. Punjab is expected to hold the local bodies elections in March. Azhar is PTI’s Member National Assembly from NA-126 (Lahore). He is currently serving as federal energy minister. SAMAA TV has reported that Punjab’s Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid and Industries and Commerce Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal were also considered for the post. Punjab Industries and Commerce Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal says industrialists are turning to Punjab due to the provincial government s investor-friendly policies.
He wa stalking to a delegation of All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association which called on him in Lahore.
During the meeting, the Minister said that Punjab has a very conducive environment for investment and all possible facilities are being provided to industrialists to establish their business.
He said all possible assistance will be provided to relocate All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association to shift its industrial units at Quaid-e-Azam Business Park. ....

PTI govt playing proactive role to tackle global warming issue

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is the first government in the country which has taken the environmental issues and global warming seriously, and since its inception, it has been playing a proactive role to supplement the global initiatives to handle the grave challenge.
Pakistan is specifically vulnerable to climate changes, such as extreme weather conditions and other climatic effects including sea intrusion, unusual rain patterns, glacial melting, rising temperatures and drought. Every year, flash floods and torrential rains not only claim human lives but also damage property and infrastructure.
The PTI government is promoting afforestation all across the country and it has launched projects like 10 billion tree tsunami, clean and green Pakistan, electric mobility (electric vehicle policy) and public awareness campaigns, etc. to reduce emissions and control all sorts of environmental pollution. ....
