Herd finishes 2020 with 6-3 loss to Fargo

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com)    The Sioux Falls Stampede capped of the year 2020 with a tough 6-3 loss to the Fargo Force at the PREMIER Center Thursday night. Forwards Garrett Pinoniemi, Jay Buchholz and JP Turner scored in the effort, while Noah Grannan made the start in net, stopping 24 of 29 shots on net.
The Sioux Falls Stampede were able to kick off the eve of the new year with a power player goal from Garrett Pinoniemi at the 7:50 mark of the first period. Defenseman Brent Johnson provided the assist that set up Pinoniemi on the outside of the left circle to snipe it past goaltender Brennan Boynton. The fifth goal of the season for the University of Minnesota recruit. ....

Defensemen score three in 5-3 win over Buccs

DES MOINES, Iowa (KELO.com)    The Sioux Falls Stampede defensemen stole the show as three blue liners scores in a 5-3 victory over the Des Moines Buccaneers at Wells Fargo Arena Monday night. Five different players scored for the Herd, including two third period goals, while Noah Grannan made the start and earned the win in net, stopping 24 of 27 shots on net.
The Des Moines Buccaneers forward Zach Faremouth opened the scoring with a goal five minutes into the first period for his fifth of the season. Los Angeles Kings prospect Alex Laferriere assisted on the goal. The Herd responded with a goal from defenseman Brent Johnson at the 12:47 mark of the period, but LaFerriere answered back with his third goal of the season to take a 2-1 lead. ....

Black Hawks Split On Their Weekend Road Trip
After suffering their 6th loss in a row, on Friday at Omaha by a score of 5-2, Waterloo reversed that score on Saturday night at Sioux Falls and broke the losing streak with a 5-2 victory over the Stampede. The Black Hawks are now in 7th place in the USHL s Western Conference, jumping ahead of last place Lincoln. And now, hopefully, the team will start a slow climb back into contention.

Herd suffer ugly loss on ugly sweater night

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) The holiday cheer was dampened as the Sioux Falls Stampede fell to the Waterloo Black Hawks 5-2 Saturday night at the PREMIER Center. Will Dineen scored both goals for the Herd on Ugly Christmas Sweater Night, but it was a three-goal third period for the Black Hawks that upended the night. Noah Grannan made the start, stopping 24 of 27 shots on net.
Will Dineen had the Stampede cowbells and Santa’s sleigh bells ringing with a goal at the 7:33 mark of the opening period to take the 1-0 lead. Forward Tyler Haskins was able to shoot a puck on net that ricocheted off the pads of goaltender Charlie Glockner several times before Dineen was able to slide the puck in for the goal. The Black Hawks responded with a goal of their own from Cole Hansen five minutes later to tie the game up. Hansen was to toe drag the puck around a Stampede defenseman and lift it over the right shoulder of Noah Grannan for ....
