Covid-19: Active cases near 600, Noida & Ghaziabad step closer to unlock | Noida News

Representative image GHAZIABAD: The reducing number of active cases has raised hopes of the unlock process starting in Noida and Ghaziabad this week. Active cases in Ghaziabad came down to 631 on Saturday while in Noida, it was 610. As per state government’s directive, curfew will be lifted in districts with less than 600 active cases. So far, curbs have been eased in 61 of the 75 districts of the state. Ghaziabad chief medical officer NK Gupta said that in the past 5 days the district has registered a decline in active cases. “From 1,025 active cases on June 1, it came down to 631 on Saturday. This has brightened the prospect for lifting of the curfew in the district. However, a decision in this regard will be taken by the district magistrate (DM) once the active cases are below 600. Given the trend, it is likely next week,” Gupta said.
