Boston: May Day Still Counts
The Green-Rainbow Party of Massachusetts urges all to join together for an all day celebration of May Day 2021 starting at 1:00 PM on Boston Common. The Rally will be followed by a March to Nubian Square. Upon arrival at Nubian Square, there will be another Rally followed by a Nighttime March @ 6:00 PM cosponsored by New England Front Against Fascism.
Join us in celebrating May Day, International Workers Day, and unite to oppose the attacks coming down on working people, the oppressed, and youth. Once again our party has been working with the Boston May Day Coalition and many other progressive organizations in planning this annual event and celebration. The rally, which will begin at 1 PM at the Parkman Bandstand in Boston Common, will bring together many compelling speakers united in their demand for justice. ....

For the second time in less than a year, the Boston City Council on Wednesday passed an ordinance restricting police in their use of chemical agents such as tear gas and projectiles like sponge rounds to control crowds.
The proposal limits such weapons, as well as pepper spray and rubber bullets, against people engaged in protests or gatherings of more than 10 people. ....

Bank of America Announces $1.5 Million Commitment to Advance Racial Equality and Economic Opportunity in Massachusetts

Bank of America today announced a $1.5 million commitment as part of its work to advance racial equality and economic opportunity in Massachusetts. King Boston, an organization dedicated to raising awareness of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King in Boston, and the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers, which offers support and assistance to the state’s 52 community health centers, will both receive funding. The grant funding is aligned to the bank’s $1.25 billion, five-year commitment, which further accelerates work already underway to address racial inequality and catalyze similar efforts across the private sector. ....
