PITTSBURGH – A Pittsburgh couple and their Virginia-based landlords have mutually agreed to dismiss a claim for violation of the Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law, in a case where the plaintiffs allege that faulty wiring nearly caused a fire in the home they rented in Penn Hills.

PITTSBURGH – A Western Pennsylvania dance studio defends itself from a lawsuit where a woman was seriously injured at one of its events after her leg came into contact with a rolling table cart, saying that the school which hosted the event was instead at fault.
Janis L. Lento and Alfred M. Lento of Venetia first filed suit in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas on Jan. 19 versus Borelli’s Dancy Gallery, Inc. (doing business as “Borelli’s Dance Gallery”), of Bethel Park.
On June 9, 2019, the Dance Gallery, a for-profit dance studio, held a dance recital at Upper St. Clair High School, where tickets for admission were sold to members of the public.

PITTSBURGH – A Western Pennsylvania landlord counters that a tenant suing it for negligence connected to his fall over a pair of retaining walls in his apartment parking lot, is solely responsible for his own injuries.
Timothy Stroupe first filed suit in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas on Jan. 11 versus LeDonne Associates Limited Partnership and P.D. & E Associates, Inc., both of Allison Park.
The suit said the plaintiff was a tenant of defendant at the premises and was entitled to utilize the parking lot. Two of the parking spaces located on the parking lot were held in place by a stone retaining wall. The retaining wall did not have a hand railing or guard despite having two iron pipes on the east side of the retaining wall curb and a single iron pipe in the landscape shrubbery beyond the end of the retaining wall.
