Knoxville man convicted of raping child repeatedly over several years

He faces a minimum term of 25 years without the chance for parole.

The state alleged Gouge s assaults on the victim started when the child was age 9 and continued until she turned age 12.
By April 2019, when the victim was 15, the state Department of Children s Services learned of the abuse. The Knoxville Police Department investigated and arrested Gouge.
Judge Kyle Hixson will impose sentence.
According to Knox County District Attorney General Charme Allen s office, prosecutors will seek the maximum time allowed under the law for Gouge.
Rape of a child carries 25 to 40 years in prison without the possibility of parole. For Gouge, each aggravated sexual battery count means another potential eight to 12 years in prison, according to the DA s Office. ....

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. A Chattanooga gang member has been found guilty of second-degree murder charges in a 2012 killing in South Knoxville.
According to the Knox County District Attorney General s Office, Jamar Laquinn Frazier, 33, identified as a member of the Black Crime Family, which he claimed to be a rap record label but authorities know it is affiliated with the Gangster Disciples.
On July 3, 2012, prosecutors said members of the group targeted the victim because they believed he stole two ounces of marijuana from them. They tracked him down on Overbrook Drive, where they assaulted him and held him until Frazier arrived. ....

KFD investigating after someone set fire on porch of Anthony Thompson Jr.'s girlfriend's home

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. The Knoxville Fire Department started an arson investigation after someone lit a fire on the porch of Anthony Thompson Jr. s girlfriend s home, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
A KPD incident report said an officer responded to the home around 4:40 p.m. on Sunday after a neighbor noticed a fire on the front porch.
KFD was already on the scene extinguishing the fire from a gas can left on the porch, according to the report. ....
