Comptroller: 2 KUB employees got more than $10K for work they didn't do

The now former engineering associate received at least $7,584, falsely claiming to have worked at least 365 hours between February 2016 and November 2018, according to the investigation. The associate resigned, and in July 2019 he repaid KUB, according to the Comptroller s Office.
The now former student worker was paid at least $2,741 while falsely reporting at least 196 hours of work he didn t do from November 2018 to May 2019. He was dismissed in May 2019 and reimbursed KUB.
The Knox County District Attorney General s Office has been notified about the investigation.
New Tennessee Comptroller Jason Mumpower noted that KUB supervisors should have reviewed the time sheets for accuracy. ....

TPC Remembers Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom – JAMES EDWARDS

On January 6, 2007, Channon Christian, 21, and Christopher Newsom, Jr., 23 were carjacked at gunpoint by Lemaricus “Slim” Davidson, who forced them to his Knoxville, TN house.
There, Davidson, along with Letalvis Cobbins, and George Thomas, aided by Eric Dewayne Boyd and Vanessa Coleman bound, gagged, and blindfolded Christopher and repeatedly sodomized him, making Channon watch.
After several hours they shot his head, dragged him to nearby railroad tracks, and shot him twice more. They then poured gasoline on his body, set him on fire, and returned to the house. Over the next few days, they tortured Channon, binding her, beating her repeatedly, and raping her repeatedly in every imaginable way. ....

Handwritten plans to kill parents
During the commencement of Monday’s trial, prosecutors alleged a notebook belonged to Guy Jr. detailed the then 28 year old’s handwritten plans for stabbing his parents to death and inheriting their assets.
The defendant’s three sisters reportedly
told authorities everything seemed okay when the family sat together for Thanksgiving in 2016. But just days after that
Knox County Sheriff’s Office said
Joel Guy Jr. murdered his parents in horrific fashion. Both victims were stabbed and dismembered, their remains placed in different rooms of the house, deputies said. ....
