The River Falls City Council approved the Mayorâs reappointment of Brenda Gaulke to the Park and Recreation Advisory Board through May 2024 at the July 27 common council meeting. The council also heard from Baker Tilly on the 2020 audit results, the Kinnickinnic River Land Trust on a request for city assistance, approved a couple of no parking ordinances and a lease to the LLC doing business as The Garage Bikes + Brews.Â

Imagine reinvigorating a marine tradition that brings together Georges River Land Trust, the Apprenticeshop and Portugal, a country whose seafaring culture is at risk of being lost.
João Bentes, an instructor at the Apprenticeshop, has this vision: to build a traditional Portuguese sardine carrier with local Rockland youth, sail it across the Atlantic, and start a traditional boatbuilding Apprenticeshop in Portugal. João approached the Georges River Land Trust for “spar” material. ....

SOUTH THOMASTON and ROCKLAND Georges River Land Trust announces two local opportunities to participate in Earth Day clean-ups.
The first is a Preserve Roadside Cleanup on Earth Day, Thursday, April 22, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, in South Thomaston.
Georges River Land Trust will lead an effort to collect roadside debris that has collected over the winter months and help tackle the issue of waste in the green spaces and waterways. Jane Karker, one of the Georges River Land Trust trail stewards who looks after the Bobolink Trail on the Riverview Hayfields Preserve on Route 131 in South Thomaston, will lead the effort along Route 131. ....
