State cites noncompliance in North Chelmsford sewer main break Wicked Local CHELMSFORD The state has cited the town for violation of sewer regulations compliance, following a March 2020 sewer main break at the Southwell pump station in North Chelmsford. However, town officials are criticizing the state s response, including some requirements of a consent order, and an unspecified fine amount. Public Works Director Gary Persichetti and Town Manager Paul Cohen gave an update at the May 24 Select Board meeting. Persichetti said a meeting between town officials and the Department of Environmental Protection regarding the noncompliance notice is set for June 30. It s a little disturbing, Cohen said.
