Group urges Chelmsford board to allow LGBTQ flags at arts center

Chelmsford Town Meeting to start in June due to COVID concerns

Wicked Local CHELMSFORD Spring Town Meeting will begin June 17, a measure that has sparked debate, including about the town moderator s powers and duties. Town Moderator Jon Kurland announced his plans at a March 29 Select Board meeting. Kurland said he will appear April 26 at the senior center with a witness to continue Town Meeting to June 17 at the Chelmsford High School gymnasium. Town Meeting normally begins the last Monday in April. Safety, health factors Kurland said his decision is based on coronavirus concerns, including allowing time for as many representatives as possible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Kurland said he has consulted with Health Director Sue Rosa, Town Manager Paul Cohen and Chelmsford Telemedia Director Pete Pedulla, as well as Superintendent of Schools Jay Lang regarding the gymnasium s availability.
