PETALING JAYA, May 19 Fashion designer Datuk Rizalman Ibrahim has hit the pause button on his business operations in light of the rising Covid-19 cases in Malaysia.
In a statement posted to Instagram, the Penang-born creative told followers that businesses under RIC Group Sdn Bhd will temporarily halt all operations, including the fulfilment of online orders.
The move will go ahead despite the fact that Rizalman’s companies have gotten permission from the International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) to operate during the movement control order. ....

KUALA LUMPUR: Those who have to travel across district or state borders for work need to provide a letter from either the International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) or their employer, along with a company tag, when stopped at any roadblock, says Bukit Aman.
Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director Comm Datuk Seri Abd Rahim Jaafar said: “A police permit is not required when an individual is travelling for work and is able to provide such documents when stopped by police.
“A letter from Miti or their employer as well as company tags are proof that an individual is travelling for work, ” he said yesterday. ....

PETALING JAYA: Motorists heading towards the city centre in Kuala Lumpur found themselves stuck in traffic jams for longer than usual.

Only Miti approval letter and either employers' letter or workers' tag needed to travel for work, says Miti


PETALING JAYA: Those who need to travel interstate or inter-district for permitted economic activities do not need police approval but must have an approval letter from the International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) and either a letter from their employer, or their worker’s tag.
The ministry s clarification comes at the start of the ban on all interstate and inter-district travel without police approval from May 10 to June 6 in an effort to curb the spread of Covid-19.
“For your information, inter-district/state travel for work purposes does not require a letter from the police.
“A letter from Miti and an employers letter OR workers pass (two items) are sufficient. ....

Miti: Travel permission letter is for work only, abuse it and risk prosecution


PETALING JAYA: Employees issued with work permission letters from the International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) have been warned not to abuse them for personal purposes.
In a Twitter post on Monday (May 10), Miti reminded employees that legal action awaits those found guilty of abusing the permission letter.
It stressed that the letter can only be used for the movement of employees of companies registered with the ministry.
It cannot be abused for personal reasons or movement of family/friends, said the @MITIMalaysia Twitter account.
It added that the QR code provided on the letter, which can be scanned by the police, contains details of the registered companies along with the list of workers. ....
