NEU allegedly found drugs while executing search warrant Members of the Lycoming County Narcotics Enforcement Unit allegedly found two ounces of fentanyl and one ounce of methamphetamine in Francis Fredin II’s house at 1024 Baldwin Street when they executed a search warrant Jan. 21. The 24 year old was taken into custody in an alleyway behind the house, and was arraigned by District Judge Aaron Biichle for possession with intent to deliver. Biichle set bail to $85,000, and unable to post, Fredin will remain in the Lycoming County Prison until his preliminary hearing. Snyder County man arraigned for threatening city police, littering A Beavertown man allegedly threw an open container of alcohol across a parking lot before stating he would “[expletive]” a city police officer up Saturday afternoon, city police said. After becoming more and more agitated during the confrontation, Robert Harer, 38, of allegedly encouraged Thad Trafford, a city police officer, to take off his badge and fight him, according to Damon Cole, a city police officer. The confrontation began when Trafford drove his police car past Harer, who was allegedly walking with an open container of alcohol. As Trafford drove past Harer, Harer allegedly threw the container across a parking lot on the 400 block of Memorial Avenue, Cole said. ....
ICU patient allegedly broke nurse’s hand While Lamar Allen Strothers, 41, of 47 Washington Blvd., was in the UPMC Williamsport ICU Oct. 3, he allegedly squeezed a nurse’s hand hard enough to break her scaphoid and tear ligaments, according to city police. Strothers, who arresting officer Gino Caschera said had been in the ICU for a few days before allegedly becoming aggressive, is charged with aggravated assault and simple assault. Strothers was arraigned by judge Aaron Biichle Dec. 8 and released on $25,000 bail, and will appear before Biichle on Jan. 7. Lewisburg woman arraigned for March DUI Hydia Shavers, 35, of Lewisburg, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol by state police on March 15 at 2 p.m. Trooper Paul Beard alleged in an affidavit he detected a strong odor of alcohol and that Shaver’s eyes were glassy and bloodshot when he conducted a traffic stop on Shavers’ Pontiac Sedan on Washington Boulevard.
