ICU patient allegedly broke nurse’s hand While Lamar Allen Strothers, 41, of 47 Washington Blvd., was in the UPMC Williamsport ICU Oct. 3, he allegedly squeezed a nurse’s hand hard enough to break her scaphoid and tear ligaments, according to city police. Strothers, who arresting officer Gino Caschera said had been in the ICU for a few days before allegedly becoming aggressive, is charged with aggravated assault and simple assault. Strothers was arraigned by judge Aaron Biichle Dec. 8 and released on $25,000 bail, and will appear before Biichle on Jan. 7. Lewisburg woman arraigned for March DUI Hydia Shavers, 35, of Lewisburg, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol by state police on March 15 at 2 p.m. Trooper Paul Beard alleged in an affidavit he detected a strong odor of alcohol and that Shaver’s eyes were glassy and bloodshot when he conducted a traffic stop on Shavers’ Pontiac Sedan on Washington Boulevard.
