I’m Jeremy Thomas, and Saturday brings live fans back to the Impact Zone for the first time with the company’s big summer PPV. Impact has used the opportunity provided by WWE’s April release the last couple of years to make Slammiversary a show of big surprises and major debuts, and this year appears to be no different. There are a lot of matches set for the show, including the now monthly question of who will try to take the World Championship home out of Kenny Omega’s hands and bring it home to Impact. As noted, tonight’s Before The Impact episode on AXS will feature the first-ever 60-Minute Ironman Match for the X Division Title with Josh Alexander defending against TJP. The match will conclude during the first few minutes of tonight’s regular Impact episode on AXS. In an update, the idea behind tonight’s Ironman Match is to elevate the X Division Title in a major way going forward, according to PWInsider. One source compared the X Division push plans to when WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam held the ECW World Television Title for 700 days, from April 4, 1998 until it was vacated on March 4, 2000 due to injury. That was the longest ECW World TV Title reign in history, and the idea was that the title was just as important as the ECW World Heavyweight Title. That is what Impact is hoping to achieve with the X Division Title. ....
A new report has some details on a match that earned a lot of buzz from the recent Impact Wrestling tapings. Fightful Select reports that an X-Division Championship match was filmed at the tapings that ran an hour long and had a lot of buzz behind it, with many who watched it being very impressed. Details on who was involved in the match are not yet known. Josh Alexander is the current X-Division champion, having won the title from Ace Austin in a match also including TJP at Impact Rebellion on April 25th. Since then he has successfully defended it against Austin and El Phantasmo. He is set to team with Petey Williams against TJP and Fallah Baah on this week’s show. ....

Nair, the host of YouTube show AEW Outside The Ring, posted a photo of herself with Morrissey on Instagram Thursday. She wrote the following caption: Alexa play The Lion King’s ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight’ The likes of Anna Jay, Chelsea Green, Penelope Ford and Anthony Ogogo responded to the picture.
