HR ministry to raise problems of PWDs in cabinet meeting: Mazari

Islamabad : Federal Minister Dr. Shireen Mazari has said that the Ministry of Human Rights would raise the problems of the People With Disabilities (PWDs) in the Federal Cabinet, especially ensuring their 2 percent quota in federal departments/divisions.
Chairing the second meeting of the Council on Rights of Persons with Disabilities here Sunday, Mazari said that Federal Secretary for Human Rights will also approach its counterparts to take necessary actions for ensuring 2 per cent quota for persons with disabilities in jobs as well as secretaries of ministries would also be called in the next council meeting.
The second meeting of the Council on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities discussed making Islamabad a friendly city for persons with disabilities and ensuring a 2 per cent quota of jobs for persons with disabilities in federal ministries/divisions. ....

Islamabad: Dr. Sania Nishtar visited the âEhsaas Rehribaanâ site in G-11 Markaz of the federal capital to interact with street vendors who have been provided with improved carts and training to streamline local vending activities.
The collaborative street vending initiative aims to create an enabling environment for street vendors in Islamabad. During the visit, Dr. Sania walked around the vending carts and met with local street vendors. She obtained their viewpoints on the multistakeholder initiative and explored possibilities to improve the street vending ecosystem. Under the umbrella of Ehsaas, model vending carts with ecofriendly structures have recently been handed over to a select number of existing vendors in G-11. ....
