Man arrested in city shootout

Police arrested a man they said fired at least 20 rounds from an assault rifle during an apparent gunfight in a Monroe neighborhood.
The Monroe Police Department identified one shooter as Ronald Roberts, 35, of Monroe Township. He was taken into custody on Friday and detained on numerous felony warrants, including assault with intent to murder, felony firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession with intent to deliver narcotics and numerous parole violations.
He was arraigned on Monday in First District Court and remanded to the Monroe County jail without bond.
Police said the shootout occurred in the 400 block of Almyra Ave. Detectives reported more than 45 bullet casings were recovered from at least four different guns. Although no people were hit, many cars and occupied residences in the neighborhood were struck with bullets. ....
