The parent company of S.P.I.R.E. Institute, a sports training and education mega-facility in Geneva, Ohio, has been in talks for months to buy the Mercyhurst North East campus, an 84-acre historic property that was once home to St. Mary s Seminary. If the sides can finalize a deal, Baltimore-based Blue Ocean Investments, a real estate investment and management company, could acquire the campus in the heart of North East less than two years after Mercyhurst University announced plans to close it.
