Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio May 5, 2021 | 4:14 PM With trial about 10 months away, the Hopkinsville man accused of being impaired when he ran over and killed a Todd County woman last year on Blue and Gray Park Road appeared for a hearing in Todd Circuit Court Wednesday. Billy Jo Faughn is facing charges of murder, aggravated DUI and possession of marijuana. The defense in the case says they are waiting for some evidence to come back from testing and Judge Joe Hendricks set a pretrial conference for August 4. ....
Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio May 5, 2021 | 4:17 PM A not guilty plea was entered during arraignment in Todd Circuit Court Wednesday for 37-year old Robert Larue, who allegedly stabbed his step-father several times during an altercation at his mother’s home on Morningside Drive in Elkton. Circuit Judge Joe Hendricks accepted a not guilty plea on his behalf and said they would consider the possibility of bond modification at the next pre-trial hearing, which was set for June 2. Larue is charged with first-degree assault domestic violence. Elkton police were called to 107 Morningside on February 3 regarding a domestic altercation in progress and were talking to the caller outside when officers heard sounds of another altercation inside. ....
The Guthrie city councilmember indicted for forgery was arraigned Wednesday in Todd Circuit Court. As previously reported, 42-year old Doreen Lynch reportedly asserted she was not a convicted felon when she filed her papers to run for council in 2020 and Commonwealth’s Attorney Neil Kerr says investigation by the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office determined she had been previously convicted of evading arrest in Tennessee, which is a Class E felony. Defense attorney Stephanie Mize entered a not guilty plea on her behalf and asked for a continuance until August, hopeful she will be able to work out a possible resolution by that time. ....
Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio May 5, 2021 | 4:11 PM Arraignment was held Wednesday in Todd Circuit Court for the woman charged with murder for the September, 2019 death of Ted Thompson in Elkton. Kentucky State Police investigated and say 32-year old Krystie Chancey used a pillow to smother the 61-year old Thompson to death at his home on Shelby Avenue in Elkton before she and co-defendant Russell Walker fled to Tennessee in Thompson’s stolen vehicle. The murder charge was dismissed without prejudice in October after Walker fled the area while out on bond. He was recently arrested again in Christian County and has since been indicted for bail jumping. ....
