Guthrie councilmember indicted for forgery arraigned

The Guthrie city councilmember indicted for forgery was arraigned Wednesday in Todd Circuit Court. As previously reported, 42-year old Doreen Lynch reportedly asserted she was not a convicted felon when she filed her papers to run for council in 2020 and Commonwealth’s Attorney Neil Kerr says investigation by the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office determined she had been previously convicted of evading arrest in Tennessee, which is a Class E felony. Defense attorney Stephanie Mize entered a not guilty plea on her behalf and asked for a continuance until August, hopeful she will be able to work out a possible resolution by that time.

Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio May 5, 2021 | 4:11 PM Arraignment was held Wednesday in Todd Circuit Court for the woman charged with murder for the September, 2019 death of Ted Thompson in Elkton. Kentucky State Police investigated and say 32-year old Krystie Chancey used a pillow to smother the 61-year old Thompson to death at his home on Shelby Avenue in Elkton before she and co-defendant Russell Walker fled to Tennessee in Thompson’s stolen vehicle. The murder charge was dismissed without prejudice in October after Walker fled the area while out on bond. He was recently arrested again in Christian County and has since been indicted for bail jumping.

Chancey re-indicted for 2019 Todd County murder

Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio Apr 22, 2021 8:43 AM A Todd County Grand jury has re-indicted 32-year old Krystie Chancey for murder in connection with the September, 2019 death of Ted Thompson. The murder charge was dismissed without prejudice in October after co-defendant Russell Walker fled the area while out on bond. He was recently arrested again in Christian County and has since been indicted for bail jumping. His original charges included five counts of receiving stolen property and two counts of felony theft for allegedly helping Chancey steal electronics and a vehicle from Thompson’s home after his death and Commonwealth’s Attorney Neil Kerr said his testimony was crucial to making a case against Chancey.
