Then along came coronavirus.
Our last physical tour was March 7th of 2020 and a week after everything shut down with COVID, Brent said.
The friends and co-founders put the brakes on their popular bus tours - a tough but necessary decision.
These are businesses that have become family, so to see what they were going through was a little rough, very rough, actually, Brent said.
The women found new ways to support their community - using their separate talents and platforms.
For Brent, a freelance writer and publicist, it meant keeping her handful of clients in the public eye.
I m still writing. There are still stories that need to be told, she said. Still doing PR and representing these businesses and making sure they get this platform during one of the most struggling times anyone has seen. ....

Ever since John Neely Bryan visited North Texas in search of a place to establish a trading post in 1839, Dallas has been a polestar of entrepreneurial spirit in nearly every industry you can name, including winemaking.
These Texan vintners were either born in Dallas or “got here as fast as they could,” as one says. Among them, they have careers in investing, higher education and IT engineering. They ride Harley-Davidsons, attended Stanford and lived in Paris. They share an intense love of wine, and it turns out they are incredibly talented at making it, too. ....

The Lower Rio Grande Valley has been Texas citrus central since the 1880s. Picked at flavor’s peak, Texas citrus is shipped locally and throughout the U.S. and Canada. The Valley, Texas’ southernmost area, grows about 70% grapefruit and 30% oranges on 32,000 acres.
The Texas Red Grapefruit was discovered in the 1920s, and it was adopted by Texas in 1993 as the official state fruit. The Texas Red comes in several trademarked varieties. The peel can be pink, yellow or white, and the fruit is always red. ....
