Seven accused in police custody RAJKOT: Four days after a farmer who also used to work as traditional healer was killed, the Rajkot rural police arrested seven persons for the crime on Monday. The 65-year-old Mavji Vasani was found murdered in Devpara village of Jasdan taluka of Rajkot district on early morning of July 1. “Vasani was strangled to death at his farm on the outskirts of Devpara village. We found objects scattered around in his room and suspected that the man was murdered with the intention of carrying out the loot,” a police official said. A Police probe revealed that the victim was lured by two women Rajal Dodia (38) and Pooja Solanki (35). The accused knew that Vasani kept cash and valuables at his farm room. Rajal and her husband Hitesh Dodia (45) hatched a plan to first kill him and later carry out the loot. ....
A man in Rajkot, Gujarat, allegedly murdered a 70-year-old man after the latter demanded sexual favours from his wife. The incident took place in Virnagar village of Jasdan taluka, Rajkot. The case came to light when the deceased was found at his farm on Friday. The case was solved on Wednesday. The accused was identified as Sanjay alias Pratap alias Pravi Chorodia. A resident of Mota Dadva village in Gondal taluka, the accused allegedly murdered Shanker Vekaria. Reportedly, the 70-year-old man had been demanding sexual favours from Sanjay’s wife. On some of the occasions, Vekaria had even forcefully held Sanjay’s wife. When Sanjay learned about the elderly man’s intentions, he took the decision of murdering him. ....
Rajkot: A 65-year-old farmer was found murdered on his farm in Devpara village of Jasdan taluka in Rajkot district on Thursday early morning. He was identified as Mavji Vachhani. On Wednesday midnight, Vachhani came to sleep in the small house on his farm on the outskirts of Devpara village. Later in the night, one of the villagers came to meet Vachhani who was also a traditional healer. The man found Vachhani dead and tied to a cot. He informed Vachhani s family members in the village. Postmortem revealed that Vachhani was strangled. Police said that Vachhani’s house was ransacked. A primary probe suggested the victim was killed with the intention of loot. ....
