The three lions were spotted near Kanesara hamlet of Jasdan in the last week of November and later moved westwards to Sardhar.

Rajkot: Three male lions camping near the city for a month are to be released in their original territory, after being rescued by forest department on January 3.
Dushyant Vasavada, chief conservator of forests of Junagadh wildlife circle told the Indian Express, “We are monitoring their health and will soon release them back into the wild. One of them is satellite-tagged and we know where these lions are from, to prevent any territorial conflict with other lions, we shall release them in their original territory.” ....

Pride of lions preys on 10 cows at gaushala in Rajkot village

A pride of 10 lions entered a gaushala and preyed on 10 cows in Arab Timbadi village of Jetpur taluka of Rajkot district early on Tuesday. A team of forest department that was tracking the pride, however, reached the spot and saved 25 other cattle heads in the gaushala.
This is the third instance of lions being spotted in Rajkot district in a month. Seven lions were found camping in Thanagalol village of Jetpur taluka, 10 km north of Arab Timbadi last month, and three lions killed 14 cattle earlier this month in Jasdan taluka.
Arab Timbadi is some 10 km from the border of the Gir Wild Life Sanctuary (GWLS). Spread across Junagadh, Bhesan and Visavadar talukas of Junagadh district, GWLS is home to a few dozen Asiatic lions. However, over the past few years, lions have been dispersing out of the protected forest areas to densely populated revenue areas. ....

RAJKOT: A pride of lions that has moved closer to the periphery of Aji Dam on the outskirts of Rajkot have enjoyed a lavish Sunday feast comprising a cow, a blue bull and a wild boar on Sunday.
While locals said that the cow was preyed upon from a cowshed of a maldhari living in Vadali village near Tramba village in the periphery of the dam. “Maldhari Lavji Govind woke up hearing roars and cries of cows from the shed and rushed out. He saw two lions being dragged out of the cowshed,” said an official from Rajkot forest range. ....
