Jackets Wrap Up 2021 ACC Diving & Women s Swimming Championships – Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Sophomore McKenzie Campbell set a new school record in the 200 fly, while five women in total advanced to finals. Fellow sophomore Ruben Lechuga qualified for the platform event finals, marking the third diving event that he has reached the finals in this year at ACCs. “Today was a great way to finish off the week with another school record by McKenzie Campbell in the 200 fly,” said Toni M. and Richard L. Bergmark Swimming & Diving Head Coach Courtney Shealy Hart. “I am so proud of the way the team competed. They had great focus and fantastic energy. We scored more points than we ever have before at ACCs. We had multiple B cuts and many life-time best times. We fought hard, and I look forward to the future with these ladies.”

Men s Swim & Dive Ranked No 19 by CSCAA – Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. – Georiga Tech men’s swimming & diving was ranked No. 19 in the latest CSCAA national poll, announced by the association on Wednesday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets were one of eight Atlantic Coast Conference teams featured in the top-25. No. 6 NC State, No. 8 Louisville, No. 10 Virginia, No. 14 Virginia Tech, No. 15 Florida State, No. 18 Notre Dame, No. 19 Georgia Tech, No. 20 North Carolina and No. 21 Pittsburgh rounded out the ACC schools that made the cut. Tech has begun its 2021 spring schedule since the last slate of national rankings were released in December. Recently the Jackets dropped a close dual meet against No. 22 Auburn on Jan. 8, falling 145-117 to the Tigers, before the dive squad headed to Tallahassee for a diving exhibition versus Florida State.

THE FLATS – Highlighted by three home dual meets and one invitational the Georgia Tech swimming and diving program released the remainder of its 2020-21 schedule on Friday. “After a unique year we are excited to compete on multiple weekends in January,” said Toni M. & Richard L. Bergmark Swimming and Diving Head Coach Courtney Shealy Hart. “We had a fantastic fall and have been training hard all throughout December. We are looking forward to getting back to competing safely and under COVID-19 protocols established by the Institute and Atlantic Coast Conference.” Overall, the Yellow Jackets will host seven meets throughout the rest of the 2020-21 regular season, including its 2021 opener against Auburn in Atlanta on Jan. 8.
