PETALING JAYA: Selangor recorded the highest number of new Covid-19 infections with 415 cases from the country’s total of 1,510. Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 326 of the cases were detected from the existing clusters and close contact screenings. “Sarawak had 296 new cases while 171 were recorded in Kelantan. With 1,510 new cases, the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country is 359,117. “Of the new cases, 1,505 cases were locally transmitted while five were imported cases. “A total of 1,248 people have recovered, bringing the cumulative discharge cases to 342,737, ” he said yesterday. Dr Noor Hisham said the total number of active cases in the country stood at 15,059 cases. ....
PETALING JAYA: Sarawak recorded the highest new daily Covid-19 cases with 555 as the country registered 1,854 new infections. Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said of the cases in Sarawak, 417 were detected from existing clusters and close contact screenings. “The increased cases in Sarawak is due to a rise in the number of clusters, including those in longhouses. “The factors that contribute to the increase in cases are social and mass gatherings such as funerals, weddings and others, ” he said in a statement yesterday. The country recorded seven new clusters of which four were linked to the workplace while the remaining three were from the community. ....
