Further attempts to halt the Princes Parade development in Hythe have failed.

As part of the proposal, Princes Parade road will be re-located closer to the Royal Military Canal.
Over the years, those against the scheme, including members of the Save Princes Parade (SPP) action group, have fought hard to stop it going ahead.
That battle came to a head at the end of last year when SPP lost their appeal at Judicial Review, having previously called the scheme ‘unlawful’. ....

FSB welcomes £5bn grants from Rishi Sunak - but warns more is needed

The Federation of Small Businesses has welcomed news the Chancellor is to issue £5billion of new grants to firms across England in a bid to help them survive - but warned more help is needed.
Rishi Sunak is set to officially unveil the new package of support for those hit hardest by the lockdowns when he delivers his Budget on Wednesday.

South Thanet MP Craig Mackinlay is among 68 Conservatives calling on Chancellor Rishi Sunak to cut beer duty in the upcoming Budget statement.
A letter signed by the group has been sent to the Treasury following concerted calls from the beer and pub sector for increased support, after the Prime Minister confirmed that pubs will not be able to fully reopen without trading restrictions until mid-June.

The initiative was driven by Richard Holden, MP for North West Durham, and comes as the British Beer & Pub Association says the cautious reopening of pubs will cost the sector £1.5 billion in lost trade in April alone, as 3 in 5 pubs will not be able to open or be viable with outside service only. ....

A wine bar offering the best the county has to offer is set to open in the historic setting of Chilham village square this summer.
The Tudor Peacock will have the “unique selling point” of being the only venue in the county where alcohol from all seven of Kent’s top wine producers will be on offer.
As well as wine, cheese and oysters will also be available at the Chilham venue
Bottles and samples from the likes of Chapel Down, Hush Heath and Domaine Evremond will all be available from the 14th century site in the heart of the picturesque village six miles east of Canterbury. ....
