PESHAWAR: Residents of Gulberg locality near the cantonment on Monday complained that the government had failed to establish a Sasta Bazaar in their locality despite the pitching of tents along the roads for the last more than four days.
Several area residents told The News that the Sasta Bazaar was a good step for providing some relief to the people but the people responsible for organizing it had handled it poorly.
A milkman in the area, Rahim Gul, said that he regularly visited the tents to check whether or not the food items had been provided to the Sasta Bazaar for onward sale to the masses. ....

NOWSHERA: Advisor to Chief Minister on Food Mian Khaliqur Rahman on Wednesday said that the government had established mobile shops, Insaf Sasta Bazaars, Kissan markets and Utility Stores to provide essential food items to people at subsidized rates during Ramazan.
Talking to the media during his visit to Insaf Sasta Bazaar in Pabbi near here, he said that 82 Insaf Sasta Bazaars, Kissan markets had been established besides Utility Stores to provide relief to the people.
He said that people could lodge complaints through the Marastial App about any issue pertaining to prices, quality of food items and unavailability. ....

Rawalpindi : All ‘Ramazan Sasta Bazaars’ were without basic items including pulses, sugar, ghee, basin, vegetables and fruits because Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) protesters did not allow loaded trucks to enter the city areas. The workers of TLP blocked traffic at T-Chowk near Rawat and Tarnol here on Tuesday.
The angry supporters of Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) carrying batons in their hands took full control of all city areas and forcefully closed down all markets and shops at Murree Road. Even banks and petrol pumps also shut down their businesses in fear.

Commissioner directs to ensure COVID-19 SOPs at Ramazan sasta bazaars

Rawalpindi:Commissioner Rawalpindi Gulzar Hussain Shah has directed the authorities to ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) regarding anti-COVID-19 at all Ramazan Sasta bazaars according to guidelines issued by the Punjab government.
Commissioner directs to ensure COVID-19 SOPs at Ramazan bazaars During a visit to Ramazan Bazaar set up at the double road, he said the promise of providing relief to the citizens through Sasta Bazaars made by the government would be fulfilled and every effort would be made to provide maximum relief to the citizens.
He along with Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Anwar-ul-Haq, and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Abdullah Mehmood checked the prices of commodities of daily use items including quality, weight and stock and warned that no compromise would be made on the quality of subsidised items. ....
