I RECENTLY visited the Sasta Bazaar in the G/9 sector of Islamabad to buy some fruits. To my surprise, the rates of water melon, melon, peaches and loquat per kilogramme were quite reasonable; ranging from Rs20 to Rs150. Also, the box of cherries, which was sold for Rs300 elsewhere, was available for Rs250. Overall, I saved Rs250 on my purchase that day without compromising on quality. In terms of percentage, my saving was about 25 per cent, which is huge. I compliment the organisers of Sasta Bazaars in Islamabad and hope that they continue to provide relief to the masses amid rising inflation. ....
Public terms Sasta bazaars a flop show Islamabad April 30, 2021 Rawalpindi : The tall claims of the local administration have dashed to the ground as consumers visiting Ramazan Sasta Bazaars even after 16th Ramazan could hardly find fresh vegetables, fruits, and other eatables. The prices of the eatables are also not much different from the ones sold in the open market. The local administration has established ‘Sasta Bazaars’ near Iqbal Park Shamsabad, Committee Chowk, Haideri Chowk, Chungi No.22, Adiala Road, Chur Chowk, Chakri Road and Gulzar-e-Quaid. It has been observed that only 15 to 20 per cent of consumers approach ‘Ramazan Sasta Bazaars’ while 30 per cent of people approach government-run utility stores. The majority of consumers seem interested in buying subsidized sugar and ghee from utility stores and low price vegetables, fruits, and sugar from ‘Ramazan Sasta Bazaars’. No food items at sasta bazaar in Gulberg National April 20, 2021 PESHAWAR: Residents of Gulberg locality near the cantonment on Monday complained that the government had failed to establish a Sasta Bazaar in their locality despite the pitching of tents along the roads for the last more than four days. Several area residents told The News that the Sasta Bazaar was a good step for providing some relief to the people but the people responsible for organizing it had handled it poorly. A milkman in the area, Rahim Gul, said that he regularly visited the tents to check whether or not the food items had been provided to the Sasta Bazaar for onward sale to the masses. ....
