An Aqua Line Metro train NOIDA: Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has finally got the three bidders it needs to go through with the process to pick a company that will build the first phase of the Aqua Line extension from Noida to Greater Noida. This was the fourth time it floated bids since it was unable to find the minimum number of applicants needed to go through with the process. The 14.95km Aqua Line corridor from Noida Sector 51 to Knowledge Park V in Greater Noida will have nine stations in total. And the estimated cost is Rs 2,294 crore. The first phase of the corridor is 9.6km-long and will have five stations at sectors 122, 123, Greater Noida Sector 4, Ecotech 12 and Greater Noida Sector 2. The first phase cost is Rs 563.04 crore, and its deadline is 24 months from the date of approval. ....
Noida: Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) on Monday confirmed that a fourth round of bidding for its Noida-Greater Noida corridor of the Aqua Line is under way. NMRC, officials said, cancelled the third round of civil tendering process in February this year because of lack of “wider participation” from construction companies. This line will connect Noida’s Sector 51 station with Greater Noida’s Knowledge V station. “We were forced to cancel the previous tendering process due to low participation. After scrapping the bidding process, we held a video conference with the construction companies keen on the project but would like to have certain modifications. We will soon float the tender again, with modifications,” Manoj Vajpayee, general manager (technical) NMRC, said. ....

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) will now weigh their technical capabilities and assess the viability of the bids, officials said. The latest round of the tendering process concluded on December 18. In the second round, that ended on November 20, RG Construction and Sam India Builtwell had shown interest in the project. The detailed project report (DPR) of the extension has been long approved by the state cabinet. The project, however, has failed to generate interest among construction companies. NMRC wanted a minimum of three bidders to be in the fray. That’s why the first two rounds failed.
