DHL Supply Chain Australia CEO Saul Resnick who oversees Sydney’s top-secret vaccine storge hub has told Sky News the Pfizer doses are being treated as if they were “the most precious commodity imaginable”.

“We are trying, for obvious reasons to keep the location confidential … simply because we recognise the criticality and the importance of the product we’re storing and distributing,” he said.

“We’re just treating this with every precaution possible.

“The reality is we’re looking at the supply chain holistically, not just about potential theft, but what happens to the product”.

Mr Resnick said the fact the Pfizer vaccine needs to be stored at minus 70 degrees Celsius means it is “very complex to manage and distribute”.

Australia s first shipment of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine will touch down this coming week with the Federal Government conceding distributing it across the country will not be a flawless exercise.
Health Minister Greg Hunt confirmed the first batch of the Belgium-made Pfizer jab is scheduled to land in Australia before the end of the week, if not earlier . ....
