Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has said that it is obligatory upon the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to provide qualified drivers and manpower to operate the modern fire engines that have been made available for the city by the federal government.
Ismail said this on Thursday as he inaugurated the new fire station at the Korangi Association of Trade & Industry. Speaking at the inauguration, the governor recalled that the city had desperately required modern fire engines, and the need had been fulfilled by none other than Prime Minister Imran Khan himself. ....

K-Electric said on Saturday it was fully committed and engaged with industry stakeholders to ensure fresh electricity connections as well as load-enhancement for its industrial consumers,
In a statement, the power utility said it has always prioritised its industrial customers and continues to do so following the recent decision of the Cabinet Committee on Energy (CCoE) to discontinue the gas supply to captive power plants of non-export related industries. It has been working round the clock to ensure that there is minimal disruption to industrial activities.

KARACHI: An investment plan of approximately Rs3.7 billion has been finalised for the captive requirements of industrial zones in the city, K-Electric (KE) said on Saturday.
The overall load-requirement and enhancement of captive power plants (CPPs) that will be connected to the grid is around 747 MW, spread across 743 customers, the statement said, citing surveys conducted by the utility. “More than 500 customers have already been contacted by the power utility for load requirements amounting to around 300MW. Permission for load-requirement or load-enhancement survey is awaited from around 100 customers,” the statement added. ....

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has received half of the 52 state-of-the-art fire engines imported by the federal government from China, while the other half has been mainly provided to the trade & industry associations and welfare organisations based in the city.
A ceremony was held at the Governor House on Sunday to hand over the new fire engines to the recipient agencies. One fire engine each was provided to the Korangi Creek Industrial Park and the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Two fire engines each were handed over to the Korangi Association of Trade & Industry, the North Karachi Association of Trade & Industry and the Federal B Area Association of Trade & Industry. ....
