Preah Sihanouk keeps 3 factories shut

The Preah Sihanouk provincial authorities have temporarily suspended the operations of three factories in two special economic zones for another week from May 26 to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Two of the factories – Cambodian Everwin Express and Prowood (Cambodia) Flowering – are located in the Preah Sihanouk Special Economic Zone on National Road 4 in Prey Nop district’s Bit Traing commune.
The other factory is Xie Cheang Home Furnishings, located in the Jejiang Gorji Special Economic Zone on National Road 4 in Prey Nop district’s Choeung Kor commune.
In a decision dated May 25, the provincial administration said it had found positive cases after suspending the factories prior to the extension to collect samples for Covid-19 testing. ....

COVID-19 cases continue rising in Southeast Asia

Hanoi – The numbers of COVID-19 cases continued to rise in Southeast Asian countries on May 25.
In Laos, 56 cases were confirmed in six cities and provinces in the past 24 hours, including 42 local and 14 imported cases, reported its Health Ministry.
The country has so far logged 1,878 infections, 1,180 have been given all-clear from the virus. Two died from the disease.
The same day, the Cambodian Health Ministry reported 568 more cases, raising the total count to more than 26,000. Of the new cases, 540 were community transmissions and 28 were imported. ....

COVID-19 cases continued to rise in Southeast Asian countries on May 25.
In

Covid cases increase in provinces, action taken

Though restrictions have been eased in the capital and across much of the country, the provincial administrations in Koh Kong, Takeo, Svay Rieng and Battambang have continued to implement stricter health measures by closing some villages and extending the closure of their markets.
The Koh Kong Provincial Hall has decided to lock some villages in Sre Ambel district due to it being a Covid-19 hotspot.
Governor Phouthong Mithona has also temporarily restricted entry and exit from Sre Ambel village until further notice to prevent the spread of Covid-19 to other areas.
In an announcement, she said the decision to close these villages came after 23 people had tested positive for Covid-19 on May 22 and 23. ....
